I was born and raised in Nanaimo and I know the town, and the people, well. To me, this partnership with the Nanaimo Barbecue Festival is a natural fit for Thrifty Foods. We cannot wait to get out there and cook up those ribs!
- Thrifty Foods Longwood Station Store Manager Dan Zapotichny
I was a meat cutter for twenty-five years, so barbecue is my favourite way to cook. This festival experience is exactly what Nanaimo needs, and I’m excited that the people of this city will have the opportunity to host our talented visitors and to give back to the community through fun events like the rib-eating contest!
- Brooks Landing Store Manager Jerry Jaggers
There’s a lot going on with this festival, and it will be a full weekend, but I’m looking forward to the rib-eating contests and to seeing those charitable funds directed to our local Nanaimo and District Hospital Foundation.
- Port Place Store Manager Mikel Knutsson
